Mother's Day in Indonesia is December 22, not May 10

Mother's Day in Indonesia is celebrated every December 22. I never remember this day actually because for me all days are just the same. This morning, when I wake up, however, Sury reminds me of this day--mother's day on December 22. Sury herself is a mother, a girlfriend and a strong woman who lives far from her family. Before I came to Jakarta, she lived alone in the capital city. Knowing her and being his boyfriend is one of the wonderful things I ever have in my life.

Last night, in Kelapa Gading, she and I did a karaoke for two hours. Now as I am writing this, I have sore throat after singing in a karaoke with my girlfriend. Not really painful, but it is not comfortable.

In USA, Mother's Day is celebrated on May 10, seven months before  Indonesian mother's day. I can only say "Happy mother's day" to Sury because my mom is in Lamongan, my home village. On December 30, I plan to go home to see her and to attend the wedding of Bio Ahmed, my best friend.

In fact, every mother's day, I don't do any special things because every day I love my mom and I have my own way to show that love. However, there is no harm in making a special day for her. It is your chance to express your love and to thank her for raising you and taking care of you.

Happy Mother's Day to every mother on Earth.
