For Muslims, wishing Merry Christmas is not haram. It is no different from using solar calender

Why is it haram for muslims in Indonesia to wish Christians Merry Christmas? The answers vary, and I myself did a Christmas debate on Facebook: is it allowed or forbidden to wish Merry Christmas. And it comes with no results. In respond to this debate, we can refer to our calender, which is based on Jesus's birth. We still use January and February as our months. If you say it is forbidden to wish Merry Christmas, using the solar calender is also haram then because it started from Jesus' birth.

On Facebook, I explained to my friend using a simple analogy: If he is forbidden to wish merry Christmas, why does he enjoy a holiday on December 25? Doesn't it serve the same as agreeing with Christmas? Also read I want to click Adsense ads because the text links attract me as a blogger.

Adi Iman, my Facebook friend, came up with a comment, "You're genius. These people don't understand sarcasm." This comment was posted in my sarcastic post on Facebook that says, "Don't have a holiday on December 25. Don't wear any accessories relating to Christmas such as Santa's hat and Christmas tree.

Other Facebook users, who mostly are Muslims, scolded me, saying I am not consistent with my words. These people do not understand sarcasm, of course. You know, when your sarcasm is too genius, people think you are stupid.
