Tens of thousands protest against 'Charlie Hebdo'

The mass demonstrations in the Muslim world against Mohammed drawings do not stop. In Iran, tens of thousands of people took to the streets, as in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India (Article picture). They were protesting against the cartoons of the French satirical magazine "Charlie Hebdo". It is a bit hard to cope with Muslim extremist all over the world.

Most rallies in Iran took place outside the capital Tehran after Friday prayers. On signs and flags the demonstrators expressed their respect for the Prophet Mohammed and criticized its "libel" by the satirical magazine. Chanting they shouted "Death to France!", "Death to Israel!", "Death to Britain", "Death of Charlie Hebdo!"

In neighboring countries, there were mass protests. In the city of Herat in western Afghanistan at least 20,000 people demonstrated against the of "Charlie Hebdo" published cartoons of Mohammed. It was the largest such demonstration in Afghanistan.

The participants burned French flags and demanded an apology from Paris. "No Muslim can tolerate insults our beloved Prophet," said one of the protesters. In the capital, Kabul protesters threw stones at the French Embassy. Security guards gave then warning shots.

In the Pakistani capital Islamabad, around 15,000 people participated in a demonstration against Islamist "Charlie Hebdo". They chanted "Our Prophet, our honor!" and "Behead the blasphemer!" Elsewhere, there was also of Islamist groups organized demonstrations with thousands of participants.

In the Indian part of the Muslim-dominated Kashmir unrest occurred after Friday prayers in violent clashes between "Charlie Hebdo" opponents of and the police. Officials in the city of Srinagar fired warning shots to drive a lot of demonstrating Muslims apart.

But even in Europe there were protests against the cartoons.
