It is very hard to do a diet program here in Jakarta. "You can't have a successful diet when Caca and I are here," says Sury. The following things explain why I fail to do my diet:
Can't resist eating
I eat much and cannot get used to eating so little. Sometimes when I try to eat only half of my portion, my belly gets furious and I want even more. This is my number one problem and the worse thing that makes my diet ruined. Last night when I said to Sury I wouldn't have dinner, she just smiled as she ate her soto Lamongan. And finally I joined her to eat that food.Too much delicious food
I have to be frankly that when I was in the village of Blimbing, I ate just-so-so foods. Here in Jakarta, I eat sate, Pizza and fried chickens, a contrast comparing to my daily menu in Lamongan, which is only fish and fish and possibly tempeh. Sury always brings home some bread and noodles at night, making me tempted to eat them. These following foods are bad for my diet:- Cheeze (I like it and Agsya likes it too)
- Sate (This is my favorite food)
- Peanut sauce (With fat in it, it is not good to eat)
Weather is hot
Jakarta, unlike my village in Lamongan, is really, really hot. My fan never stops working because once it is turned off, I will start sweating. What affects my diet with this hot weather? I eat much and drink a lot. It's good if I drink water, but it will be a problem when Sury offers me another drink. And how can be successful in my diet when I have to live like that?Less movement
I move less in Jakarta because I don't have friends and I don't know where to go. Going outside, for me, means going with Sury and Agsya, my son in-law. We only go for foods or mall or movies. Now since Agsya has a bike, I occasionally use it to do an exercise.
